Bangla e 'Dhada' English e 'Riddles'-part 1
# 1: A man named K. Rahman and his son Sharif are driving home from a Savar Sriti Shodho when they have a terrible accident (their car was hit by a bus). The man is taken to the emergency room for treatment and the boy is taken straight to the operating table as he had major injuries in his head and chest. The surgeon comes over to the operating table, sees the boy and says “I can't operate on this patient, he's my son!” How can this be?
# 2: A 10 foot rope ladder whose rungs are one foot wide is hanging over the side of a boat. At this time there is only 1 foot of ladder under the water. It now begins to rain heavily, if it rains at the rate of 1 foot every two hours, how many hours will it take to cover half of the ladder?
# 3: A Shamuk is at the bottom of a wall and wants to get out. He manages to crawl up the wall 3 feet each day, but at night he must rest (after all that work during the day) and so he slips back down 2 feet. If the well is 30 feet deep, how long will it take him to get out?
# 4: Because cigars cannot be entirely smoked, a vagabond who collects cigar butts can make a cigar to smoke out of every 5 butts that he finds. Today, he has collected 25 cigar butts. How many cigars will he be able to smoke?
# 5: Khaleda has six pairs of black gloves and six pairs of brown gloves in her drawer. In complete darkness, how many gloves must she take from the drawer in order to be sure to get a pair that match?
